My name is Mitchell Tillges…

I am currently based in Portland, OR and originally from Minneapolis, MN. With a background in studio art, photography, and theatre, stepping into the world of Fashion felt like a kismet homecoming. I design and create curated collections, bespoke fashions, and vivid theatrical costumes with the hope that they inspire the people that wear them to follow their own magic and breathe life into their biggest dreams. I draw much of my inspiration from the natural world and my long time love of illustration and storytelling. Throughout my life, I’ve honed and refined my studio skillsets and expanded my knowledge base with studies in dress history, fashion design, and technical development.

Atelier Tillges will continue to grow while keeping a focus on slow fashion, arts education, the integration of ethical technological advancement, and the preservation of heritage handcrafts. I believe that Fashion can give everyone a voice in an age when many people refuse to listen. My passion is to create and garment is my medium.
