Maybe She’s Born With It!

Sewing is a team sport, and collaboration is at the heart of creation! This was a really special project and it was beyond exciting to be a part of it. In January of 2023, Colton, the founder and Creative Director of COLTY Leather reached out looking for helping hands while creating two custom pieces for none other than Kerri Colby!

Inspired by the work of renowned designer Lena Berisha, Mitchell assisted the COLTY team by hand drafting a custom pattern and hand-stitching the chain and pavé crystal details along the neckline of this absolutely gorgeous hand embellished body-con dress. It was a fast paced project! The look was created in an astonishingly quick 3 days! Upon completion, it flew with Kerri to New York where she wore it while filming a commercial for Maybelline that aired on MTV during RuPaul’s Drag Race.
